The OHAUS Scout is a precision instrument tailored for both laboratory and industrial environments. With its slim profile, the OHAUS Scout is characterized by a 4.3" full-color VGA graphic touchscreen display, ensuring clarity and ease of navigation. The device emphasizes rapid stabilization time combined with precise weighing results, making it suitable for a range of weighing applications.
It supports multiple functions, including basic weighing, parts counting, percent weighing, animal/dynamic weighing, density determination, mole weighing, and more. Powering the instrument is flexible, with an included AC adapter or the alternative of 4 AA batteries (not included). For connectivity, options encompass RS232, USB (host and device), and Ethernet, with Bluetooth™ integration available separately.
In terms of construction, the OHAUS Scout integrates an ABS housing paired with a stainless steel pan. Practical functionalities such as the weigh below hook, transportation lock, adjustable leveling feet, and an illuminated up-front level indicator ensure accurate measurements and ease of use.
Safety remains a priority, with the device equipped with both mechanical and software measures against overload and underload scenarios. Indicators for low battery, auto shut-off, and auto tare functions are in place for user convenience. Models accommodating up to 620g also come with a span calibration mass. The design of the OHAUS Scout considers storage efficiency, with stackability as a feature, though the 1mg models are an exception to the storage cover provision.
