The AutoMATE 96 has three interchangeable heads available for purchase that provide a wide pipetting range from 1.0µL to 1000µL, making it versatile enough to fit into any standard lab setup, including biosafety cabinets, due to its compact size. Its pipetting modes include standard pipetting for accurate and precise transfer of reagents, multi-dispensing to automate the repetitive task of filling microplates, secondary dispensing for filling plates with multiple samples or reagents, serial dilutions to eliminate errors in manual dilution processes, mixing for consistent reagent mixing, and reverse pipetting for enhanced accuracy and precision with biological fluids.

In terms of software and programming, the AutoMATE 96 offers both manual and automated program modes to suit different user preferences. The manual mode allows for quick and efficient operations by selecting individual functions, such as loading and ejecting tips, aspirating and dispensing reagents, and mixing. The automated program mode enables users to create complex protocols with multiple steps, from tip loading to completion, with just a touch of a button. This mode supports a range of programmable steps including tip loading/ejection, reagent aspiration/dispensation, serial dilutions, tip rinsing, and cycle repetition.

The workstation is compatible with all brands of microplates and reservoirs that meet SLAS/ANSI formats, further extending its versatility. It also includes plate adapters for the use of 384 well microplates and PCR plates. The fully automated tip loading and ejection mechanism ensures consistent and hands-free tip handling across all 96 wells, enhancing the efficiency and reliability of laboratory processes.
